The steel production statistics for the first nine months of this year has been published by The Iranian Steel Producers Association.

 The production of middle steel in 9 months of this year increased by 3 percent compared to the same period last year and sponge iron production increased by 6.5 percent.

According to the steel association’s statistical report in the nine months of this year, the production of middle steel (billet, bloom and slab) reached 24 million and 492 thousand tons.

In the middle steel sector, 15 million and 326 thousand tons of billet and bloom and 9 million and 166 thousand tons of slabs were produced. Billet and Bloom production increased by 6 percent and slab production decreased by 2 percent.

In the statistical report of the steel association, the production growth of flat steel sections is +1.5% and the production growth of long steel sections is – 0.7%.

The production of flat sections has been 6 million and 955 thousand tons, of which 6 million 633 thousand tons belongs of hot sheets, 1 million 790 thousand tons of cold sheet and 1 million 262 tons of covered sheets. Hot sheet production increased by 0.1%، cold sheet production decreased by 2.2% and production of coated sheet increased by 11.4%.
