Japan scrap export was on the upward trend last week. Japanese exporters entered the market after the New Year’s holiday, and the heavy class scrap number 2 was by $357 a tonne of fob , up $7. In the domestic market, the price of heavy class 2 scrap was stable at $328 a tonne.

Japan’s export scrap is expected to remain in relative stability for some time.
