‎The efforts of Iranian experts with the successful production of the first “slab” in the Sepid dasht steel making unit gave a result and over the coming months this product would be supplied to domestic and foreign markets.‎

‎According to the Public Relations of National Iranian Steel Company, the first slab produced yesterday with a thickness of 200 mm and a width of 130 cm with the continuous casting machine of Sepid dasht Steel Company, was produced by Iranian capable and committed forces, without the presence of foreign experts and relying directly on local technical knowledge and power.‎

‎According to this report, the technology for slab production in the above-mentioned unit has been designed and supplied by “MME” and implemented by Paya Steel Company.‎

‎Sepid dasht Steel Company has the ability to produce 800,000 tons of slabs with different widths from 80 to 130 cm in two thicknesses of 150 and 200 mm and also to increase production capacity up to one million tons of slabs per year. ‎

‎  The completion of the Sepid dasht steel making unit, brought a job creation of 700 directly and 3,500 people indirectly.‎

‎It is worth noting that the direct reduction unit of this company that produces sponge iron, has been opened and put into operation in 1395 ( Iranian calendar ) wherewithal slabs are being produced.

‎Also,by the launching of this slab unit, Sepid dasht Steel Company is the first of seven steel projects that after many years of efforts, in the past one or two years, the combined efforts of IMIDRO organization, strategic management of National Iranian Steel Company, consultants and contractors, the problems facing this  unit have been resolved, and it has been put into operation and now both phases are being completed. Its final production is slabs.‎
