Mobarakeh steel company for the first time in the country produced austenitic stainless steel slab grade 316

‎MohammadAli Shafiei, Technical officer of  Continuous Casting and Steel making stated: in line with the strategy of producing special steels in Mobarakeh Steel Company, “Austenitic” stainless steel slab Grade 316 was produced.‎

‎He continued: This success was achieved while the equipment and facilities in the steel making and casting area are not designed to produce these types of per-alloy grades and the employees of this region, with cooperation of supporting units, succeeded in producing one of the most widely used and peralligated stainless steel grades. ‎He noted that 316 ‎‎stainless steel‎‎ has special applications in various industries and has high corrosion resistance in chloride, mild acid and marine infected working environments.‎

‎Slabs are mostly used to produce flat steel products, such as coils or steel sheets, which are used in the machinery & heavy machinery industry.‎

‎The production of stainless steel slab is the first step towards producing stainless steel sheets, and Subsequently, hot&cold rolled process should be developed in the country  in order to localize these products.‎
