Global scrap market under pressure

The global scrap market in most major markets is calm and under pressure in March. In Europe and the United States, the scrap market has also come under more pressure due to  Unwillingness of Turkey to buy, which has been in a recession since early February.

In Turkey, the steel market is in a recession and is facing a drop in demand and falling prices for steel products. ‎

‎ In February, the price of scrap in Turkey dropped by 6.4% from $419 to $422 at the end of January to $395 on February 29. Current prices are also down 8.6 percent from earlier this year. The current price of heavy scrap 20-80 is also around $379 per ton of Turkish CFR. ‎
