The National Development Fund (NDF) has started financing major projects for the construction of solar power plants in the country.
The first project of these group is a plan with a capacity of 1,500 MW in 12 provinces and 25 sites, which will be built in two years, and part of it will enter the power generation phase within the next seven months.
According to Mehdi Ghazanfari, chairman of the executive board of directors of National Development Fund, this institution is financing large projects of Iran’s solar power plants with the aim of supporting the renewable energy development . Currently, the country’s solar power generation capacity is about 1,000 megawatts, but with the implementation of one of these mega projects, this capacity will increase 1,500 megawatts.
