With the efforts of Hormozgan Steel Co and the cooperation of the Technical Council of the Management and Planning Organization of Hormozgan Province, the “Specialized Workshop on the Use of Slag in Civil and Urban Infrastructure” was held.‎

‎According to Mine News, Shahin Zare, Director of Metallurgy, Design and Product Development of Hormozgan Steel Company, while noting this news stated: “The joint workshop of Hormozgan Steel and with the participation of the Technical Council of the Management and Planning Organization of Hormozgan Province, entitled ( “The Use of Slag in Civil and Urban Infrastructure“) in order to use slag in civil projects, road infrastructure, agriculture, coastal and environmental projects of Hormozgan with the presence of experts and related engineers and managers  were held in the province.‎

‎He continued: “This workshop held owing to exchanging technical knowledge and introducing new uses of slag” as a by-product of the steel industry” in the implementation of projects such as road construction, roads, construction of docks, and development of urban space, and the participants became familiar with the economic and environmental benefits of replacing slag with traditional materials, execution technical standards, and successful domestic and international experiences.”‎
