🔹The market for rare earth elements has become one of the main fields of global geopolitical and industrial competition in recent years. The decisive role of these elements in advanced industries on the one hand, and the concentration of production and technology in a few limited countries, on the other hand, made their sustainable access, strategically important.
🔹Due to the identification of significant reserves identification and the start of extraction and processing projects, Iran is now on the eve of entering the ranks of influential players in this market. owing to the rapid demand’s growth in areas such as renewable energy, nanotechnology and advanced materials industries, as well as single industries the importance of this position becomes increasingly clear.
🔹Due to the extraction of more than 70 types of minerals in the country, Iran’s entry into the field of rare earth elements extraction is a new phenomenon. These elements include gadolinium, lanthanum, dysprosium, terbium, …, which are used in various industries.
🔹At the time being, the process of separation and complete extraction of these elements are executed in Iran ,so we are in the limited list of owners of separation technology. This key advantage for value chain development is especially important where as many countries with reserves export their mineral soil to China and other industrial centers without processing.
🔹Now, two large mines have been identified in the Marvast region of Yazd province, with a 125 million tons of soil total reserve. This province has been considered as one of the potential positions for the development of strategic mining industries due to its valuable mineral resources, including rare earth elements. For the implementation of the first phase of the extraction project, a land with an area of 15 hectares has been allocated. Also, the country’s first rare earth element production plant with a nominal capacity of 1,800 tons is under construction…
