The steelmaking and casting unit of Sefiddasht Steel company carried out with a €6.8 billion investment by Mobarakeh Steel Group in the country.
During the inauguration ceremony of the steelmaking and casting unit of Sefiddasht Steel, Zarandi, addressing the President and congratulating the Week of Government and the Industry and Mine Day to all those active in the industrial sector—especially the respected attendees at the ceremony—highlighted the activities of Mobarakeh Steel Group and added: In order to fulfill the Supreme Leader’s directives, this group, focuses on revival of investment for production throughout Iran.
Currently, about €6.8 billion worth of projects are being implemented in various sectors.
He added : with the operation of the Sefiddasht steelmaking and casting unit, and a €240 million investment, direct employment will be created for 800 people. Overall, Mobarakeh Steel Group is pursuing 12 major projects across various provinces, aiming to produce high value-added sheets. In the energy sector, solar power and combined cycle power plant projects are being finalized, which will add around 400 megawatts to their total capacity by the end of the year.
He further stated that Mobarakeh Steel Group’s main focus is on maximizing the use of the capabilities of knowledge-based companies in the country and improving environmental indicators.
In the Sefiddasht steelmaking unit construction project, 60% of the needs are met through domestic capabilities. Additionally, all the water required for the project will be supplied through treated wastewater from Boroujen. The water consumption index has been reduced to 2.5 liters per production of 1 kilogram of steel, indicating a serious effort to reduce water usage. In fact, the water consumption of the Sefiddasht steelmaking unit is only 2.3 liters per kilogram of steel production.
