The G7 countries are expected to play a crucial role in accelerating the transition to green steel production. They should coordinate policies to create markets for green steel, pool and scale-up investments in research and development, and deploy and scale-up green steel projects. Additionally, they should increase investment in multilateral funds dedicated to industrial decarbonization. This collaboration is essential for creating a sustainable and low-carbon steel industry that meets the Paris Agreement’s commitments and objectives.
