Japan’s scrap in relative stability

The average price of Japan’s Class 2 export heavy scrap rose less than a dollar last week, with $326 per ton FOB . The latest deals in Vietnam were at $375 to $380 and $365 to $366 per ton of Taiwan’s CFR were finalized.

As the Koreans are not currently in the export market and are buying domestic scrap, the price of scrap in the Korean market has fallen four times since late October because demand is low.

It should be considered that the average price of heavy import scrap 20-80 in East Asia had a weekly growth of $380 per ton CFR . The US scrap has also been heard in the $400 CFR of Vietnam, but apparently there are no buyers, and the Vietnamese have already bought for their 2023 requirements.
