‎ Sponge ‎‎Iron‎‎ Production Unit No. 2 of Baft Steel Complex was inaugurated in the list of ready projects of mining and mining industries by IMIDRO’s leadership. ‎

‎the capacity of unit No. 2  of baft direct reduction is 800,000 tons. The preparation of this project is in line with the 100-week IMIDRO plan.‎

‎The operation of this unit began in the second half of 1399 (Iranian calendar). The purpose of the implementation of the second phase of Foolad Baft (‎‎Sponge Iron‎‎) is to achieve maximum production with high quality and to support domestic suppliers.‎

‎With the implementation of Baft Unit 2, the production capacity of this complex reaches 1 million and 600 thousand tons.‎

‎Foolad Baft is located in Baft city of Kerman province ‎‎and the sponge‎‎ iron unit number one was put into operation in 1398 (Iranian calendar).
