‎ Crude ‎‎steel‎‎ production of the country exceeded 29 million tons in 11 months of 1402 (Iranian calendar )with about 5.8 percent increase compared to the same period last year. ‎

‎ Steel companies produced 29.334 million tons of middle ‎‎steel‎‎ (Slab, Billet and Bloom) from the beginning of April to the end of February. The production was 27.714 million tons in the same period last year. ‎

‎Also, the country’s ‎‎steel‎‎ producers produced 19 million and 786 thousand tons of steel products (studs, plates, rebars, dents, beams, etc.) during the 11 months of this year, which decreased by 1.1 percent compared to last year’s production (20 million and 11 thousand tons).‎

Increasing the production of pellets and sponge iron

‎iron pellets increased by 6.6 percent to 53 million and 199 thousand tons and production of “sponge iron” increased by 8.8 percent to 31 million and 466 thousand tons. ‎

These figures were 49 million 913 thousand tons of pellets and 28 million 915 thousand tons of “sponge iron” in the same period last year.
