The Director General of the Office of Geosciences Databases of the Geological Survey of Iran stated: “With the aim of integrating information and data related to the field of geosciences in the country, setting up the “Comprehensive Geosciences Database of the Country” in cooperation with the mining departments of the Ministry of industry, mine and trade has been put on the agenda.‎

‎Omid Ardabili, Director General of the Office of Geosciences Databases of the Geological Survey of Iran, stated: “The first step to develop a comprehensive strategy in the field of exploration and mining is to have a comprehensive database of the current situation of the country’s mineral reserves, which is not possible without the cooperation and interaction of competent organizations.‎

Due to this reason, the Geological Survey of Iran , as the main caretaker for storing and publishing data, decided to collect and aggregate  the production information of other mineral resources.
