The secretary of the Iranian Iron Ore Association stated: “At present, there are about 2.8 billion tons of definite reserves of Iranian iron ore with a grade of 48 percent in the country.”
Saeed Askarzadeh, the secretary of the Iranian Iron Ore Association, while pointing out that Iran’s iron ore reserves are determined due to a specific grade, continued: “Iran’s iron ore reserves are measured on the basis of 47 percent.”
He added: “Currently, there are about 2.8 billion tons of Iran’s definite iron ore reserves with a grade of 48 percent, the numbers of iron ore reserves, contrary to what the media say, are closely related to the grade used to distinguish ore from waste. For example, if we reduce the same grade to 40%, the amount of iron ore reserves will increase significantly.
