According to the Public Relations of National Iranian Steel Company, (Nisco) Mohammad Atabak, Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade, stated:
Regarding the mining, proper governance and accurate policy-making are necessary, one of the measures that we are considering and paying attention is the establishment of a central headquarters called “Steel Headquarters”, this headquarters will be formed with the participation of the private sector and the Producers Association so that we can achieve part of the regulations and activities that we should do through the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade and Associations in order to provide better conditions for the steel industry.
He continued: “Now we must focus on the formation of the country’s fixed capital and follow up the acceleration of the country’s development.
At present we have reached a point where public trust is being seen and we can identify a part of the stagnant and unproductive capitals of our dear people and return them to the production cycle by gaining trust and providing appropriate programs.”
Seyyed Mohammad Atabak added :
achieving the tenth rank of steel production is a great success but it should be noted that at the beginning of the revolution, we had only 1.4 million tons of steel production and today we have reached about 33 million tons, but this position faces various threats inside and outside the country, the biggest threat we face inside the country is the threat of energy imbalances and electricity and gas deficits, which has led to decrease in production.
He reiterated: “We have objections to the conditions of supplying gas and electricity to industries and we have propounded this objection many times in the cabinet and the president has always expressed his support.
In conclusion, Atabak added: the support package for industries affected by the imbalance of electricity and gas energy in cooperation with the private sector is being prepared and its generalities have been approved by the government’s infrastructure commission and are also under review by the Economic Commission, hoping that as soon as possible it will be presented to the cabinet .
