The program to commence the execution of a $4 billion mining and mineral industries project this year / Aghajanlou’s request to Aref for sustainable energy supply and connecting the south’s special economic zones to railway lines

The chief of the executive board of directors of IMIDRO  announced the start of operations for the $4 billion project this year, stating that these projects includes a range of steel, copper, According to the public relations of IMIDRO, Mohammad Aghajanlou during the visit of Mohammad Reza Aref, the First Vice President, and Mohammad Atabak, the Minister of Industry, Mines, and Trade, to the IMIDRO pavilion stated: at the Expo 2024 this year more than $2 billion worth of mine and mineral industry projects are ready for inauguration and to be launched.

The Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade also stated that IMIDRO’s leadership and developmental efforts on the exploitation of mining projects, infrastructure, and…  are on the agenda.

He noted: the completion and development of the alumina projects, Kurdistan steel project, increasing the production capacity of Zarshouran gold to 5 tons, and the inauguration of the Kahnuj titanium project, with the help of the private sector, are among the plans of IMIDRO and stated that IMIDRO has significant development plans in Sistan and Baluchestan, and considerable reserves of copper and gold have been identified in this region of the country.

Sustainable energy supply is a main concern

Aghajanlou continued: The supply of sustainable energy for the mining industries & steel makers is one of our concerns and in this regard, we ask the government and Dr. Aref to solve this subject.
