Kazakhstan, the destination of the largest contract for exporting technical & engineering services of Persian Reduction technology (PERED) / the flag of Iranian steel industry’s technical knowledge raised in Central Asia.

According to this contract, the technology for constructing an 800,000-ton unit using the Persian Reduction (PERED) method will be exported to Kazakhstan.
According to the public relations of national Iranian steel company, quoting IMIDRO’s public relations, the signing ceremony of this contract was held in the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade with the presence of Vajihollah Jafari, Deputy Minister for Mining Affairs, Mohammad Aghajanlou, IMIDRO’s Chairman of the Executive Board of Directors, Seyed Abbas Hosseini, Advisor to the Minister and Director General of the Ministerial Office, Hassan Younesian, Managing Director of National Iranian Steel Company and Amir Ali Taherzadeh, Managing Director of Ascotec Holding.
At the contract’s inking ceremony, Aghajanlou stated: “Today is a great day for the Iranian steel industry,” and added: “In a situation where the world is moving away from producing steel using coal and moving towards a green process, “PERED” technology has a special position in clean production.”
The Deputy Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade, while appreciating the efforts of Iranian engineers, designers, and manufacturers, stated: domestic companies are now ready to cooperate with foreign countries, especially in the Middle East and North Africa) MENA (region to launch direct reduction (DRI) projects using natural gas.
Aghajanlou, pointing out that “PERED” has more compatibility with the environment and green steel, declared: As a regional hub for the production of sponge iron, we announce our readiness to cooperate with Chinese companies to enter the market of MENA countries.
The Chairman of the Executive Board of Directors of IMIDRO, highlighted the support of Engineer Atabak, Minister of Industry, Mine, and Trade, in advancing the export of technical and engineering services for this technology and added: Iranian companies with PERED knowledge can compete with similar sponge iron production technologies in the world, and this achievement is the result of the collective efforts of our country’s activists.
He noted: Previously, we witnessed the implementation of a project with a lower capacity using the PERED model abroad, but now we are implementing a contract for 800,000 tons of technical and engineering services export to Kazakhstan.
He also stated: “The steel industry has obtained the goals of the country’s 20-year vision through the tireless efforts of those involved in the chain.”
At this ceremony, Deputy Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade, Vajiollah Jafari, also said: “The cooperation between ASCOTEC & MME to implement this contract has created new conditions for the steel chain and the Iranian knowledge.”
Managing Director of Ascotec, recalling the 35-year experience of this holding company, stated: “The Iranian knowledge of PERED has been registered worldwide since 2006, and so far, four Iranian sponge iron production plants, including Shadegan, Miyaneh, Baft, and Neyriz, benefit from it.”
Amir Ali Taherzadeh emphasized: The annual production capacity of these units is 800,000 tons per year, but Ascotec is preparing to implement PERED projects with a production capacity of about 2 million tons.
Referring to the support of the Ministry of Industry,Mine and Trade and IMIDRO for the export of technical and engineering services, the Managing Director of Ascotec stated:
Today, companies around the world are competing to create a green process in steel production, PERED model has this capability to compete in the world.
It should be noted that the first international contract for technical and engineering services with the subject of “Basic and detailed engineering design of a sponge iron production unit with a capacity of 800,000 tons in Kazakhstan” is the responsibility of MME, the engineering and technological arm of Ascotec holding, which includes the presentation of “basic and detailed engineering services”.
Iranian PERED technology,is registered in more than 45 countries around the world, has now entered the implementation stage in the Central Asian region as one of the key strategies for exporting the country’s technology. This national success, with the strategic support of the Ministry of Industry,Mine and Trade and Imidro, is considered an important development in the industrial diplomacy of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
