According to the Public Relations of NISCO quoting IRNA, Minister of Industry, Mine, and Trade, continuing his working visit to Kurdistan province, visited the Kurdistan Steel hot sheet project, located in Qorveh city, accompanied by a delegation of national and provincial officials.
This visit was due to review the progress of the project and to evaluate the production capacities of hot-rolled steel sheets as the final key link in the value chain of the steel industry.
The mentioned project, with a production capacity of one million tons of steel, is currently under implementation and requires approximately 324 million euros to be completed. It has about 20% physical progress. The execution of this project began in 2020 on a 70-hectare site, and its operational activities started in 2021. It was scheduled to be operational by 2025, but due to the lack of foreign currency supply, it has been delayed and currently has about 20% physical progress. Its investors are IMIDRO and the Mining and Metals Development Company.
