Inauguration of the Country’s Largest Solar Power Plant in Mobarakeh Steel Co

The inauguration of the Aftab Shargh project in Mobarakeh Steel Group, and the commencement of supplying electricity to the steel industry from solar energy, triggered significant reactions from high-ranking officials of the country.

According to Chilan, on Thursday, the first phase of the country’s largest concentrated solar power plant was inaugurated by Mobarakeh Steel Company named “Aftab Shargh” project. The event was held with the online presence of Masoud Pezeshkian, the President.

 Mohammad Atabak, the Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade, described the Aftab Shargh solar power plant as a symbol of national will in the path of sustainable development.

The Aftab Shargh Project: An opportunity to compensate the energy shortage

Saeed Zarandi, Managing Director of Mobarakeh Steel Company, while explaining the details of this project, stated:

 Mobarakeh Steel Company is always a responsible company in all areas, especially environmental sectors, and various investments in this field have been done.

This company has invested over $2.3 billion in this area and has targeted the production of green steel with the lowest carbon emissions since previous years.
