India’s iron ore production is on the rise

 India’s iron ore production is expected to reach around 315-316 million tonnes in the 2025-2026 fiscal year, up 9% from the previous fiscal year (289 million tonnes). This increase is due to the approval of launching new capacities for public and private companies in the country. ‎

‎ According to Big Mint, The growth of iron ore production is essential to keep pace with the significant increase in steel production capacity in India. Crude steel production is expected to grow by 10% in the next fiscal year to about 167 million tonnes. ‎

‎ The iron ore production of the state of Odisha, which is India’s largest producer, is expected to increase by 6%. NMDC, India’s largest iron ore producer, has a target of producing 55 million tonnes in the current fiscal year. The company grew by 33% in the first four months of the new fiscal year.‎
