In line with improving the productivity, increasing production performance, and enhancing the environmental conditions of the complex, the sulfur removal’s launching unit has reduced the sulfur content in the feed gas in this complex to a level of 3 ppm.

According to the public relations of the National Iranian Steel Company, quoting the public relations of the Ghaenat Steel Complex, Hadi Abdi, the caretaker of this complex, stated:

The sulfur removal unit, consisting of three zinc oxide absorber tanks, absorbs sulfur from the feed gas entering the reformer, preventing potential damage to the reformer’s catalysts and increasing the lifetime of the catalysts, equipment, and greater stability of the production processes. This action also plays an effective role in increasing the production rate of sponge iron.
