A Chinese company announced launching a “hydrogen-based green steel production unit”

According to Chilan, quoting GMK Center, Kallanish reported on Anshan Iron and Steel Group’s initiative in China to launch a pilot production line for green iron based on renewable energy and green hydrogen.

The Chinese state-owned metallurgical company has completed the implementation of the complete chain of the above-mentioned project at a factory in the Bayuquan region of China.

This pilot production line has an annual capacity of 10,000 tons and successfully produced sponge iron with 95% metallization at the end of last month.

According to Anshan, the products of the mentioned project have low impurities and are suitable for manufacturing items such as electric vehicles.
